This series consists of a typed transcript of Thomas John Worgan's survey diary produced by Gordon Johnson. Thomas John Worgan, Surveyor, kept the diary which is a record of telegrams and letters sent to the Minister and the Government Resident in Darwin regarding the development of the Tanami Goldfield. Topics include: water and sinking bores, provision of a mail service to Tanami, gold discoveries, violent confrontations between prospectors and Aboriginals, and recommendations from the Progress Committee. The placenames on the diary were checked and updated by Mr Vern O'Brien. The diary was donated by Fleur Worgan Johnson, granddaughter of Thomas John Worgan.
